Homosassa — As elected officials continuously allow Citrus County to become like the Clearwater / Tampa area, another land development is headed this way.
According to county officials, the Hampton Inn has applied for a new building permit for another hotel to be built in Citrus County.
In 2023, a foreign-owned Orlando-based company financing the project announced the build but let the permit expire.
The hotel will be located at 8553 S. U.S. 19 near Cypress Circle in Homosassa and will feature 73 rooms.
The hotel will also have a conference room.
Another foreign investor, Haroon Khawaja, has told the county that he has a project planned for Crystal River. He plans to build an extended-stay hotel.
