Lecanto — For years, residents have complained to Action Rentals Management Inc. about sewage backing up into sinks, dishwashers, and toilets.
For years, the landlords have ignored the problem.
Rather than address the issue, which is a faulty drain field, Action Rentals repeatedly has the septic pumped. However, residents say that the septic company has told the landlords on multiple occasions that the drain filed needs to be replaced.
Even after pumping the septic, especially if it rains, toilets, sinks, and dishwashers continually back up into the apartments. Sometimes, it takes days for the water to drain.
Residents say they are now taking matter into their own hands and plan to contact the health department due to it being a sanitary issue.
UPDATE
On April 12, 2024, contractors began installing a new drain field at the apartment complex.
