Citrus County officials announced Tuesday that Fort Island Gulf Beach and Hernando Park would remain closed until water-quality tests come back from the lab.
Water samples were collected Monday from the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Hernando. The purpose of the tests is to determine if the level of bacteria in the water has dropped to a safe level.
