The identity of a pedestrian, who was killed after being struck by two vehicles Friday, has been released by the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to troopers, a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, driven by Tammy Pensinger, was traveling northbound on US-41, south of East Norvell Bryant Hwy in the left turn lane, and a second vehicle, a 2007 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Scott Baum, was traveling southbound on US-41, south of East Norvell Bryant Hwy in the inside lane.

The pedestrian, identified as Lastarza D. Johnnies, was crossing US-41 when he entered into the path of the Cobalt and was struck by the vehicle.

The impact then hurled Johnnies into the path of the Sonata, at which time he was struck again.

Johnnies was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Troopers stated that Johnnies was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
